About the Journal

The International Journal of Design, Management and Technology (IJDMT) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that publishes original and high-quality research at the intersection of design, management, and technology, viewed through systemic, organisational, and governance perspectives.

The journal provides a scholarly platform for research that explores how design operates as a strategic, technological, educational, regulatory, and institutional system across creative and knowledge-based domains. IJDMT encourages interdisciplinary inquiry and contributions that integrate theory, empirical analysis, case-based research, and conceptual frameworks.

Focus and Scope

IJDMT welcomes submissions that address, but are not limited to, the following non-overlapping research systems:

Design Practice & Production Systems
Design Management & Organisational Systems
Design Technology & Digital Systems
Design Education & Academic Systems
Design Policy, Law & Intellectual Property Systems

Submissions must demonstrate clear research questions, appropriate methodology, analytical depth, and relevance to one of the journal’s defined systems.

Peer Review Policy

All submissions to IJDMT undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers, including subject-area experts and, where applicable, reviewers specialising in research methodology or systems analysis. Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, originality, methodological rigour, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Publication Model and Frequency

IJDMT follows a continuous online publication model, whereby articles are published online on a rolling basis upon acceptance and completion of editorial processing. Published articles are compiled into two issues annually (biannual compilation).

Open Access Policy

IJDMT is an open-access journal. All articles are made freely available to readers immediately upon publication, without subscription or access barriers, in order to promote the global dissemination of research.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright to their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. The specific licensing terms are stated within each published article. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work complies with applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

Ethics and Malpractice Statement

IJDMT is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, or unethical authorship practices. All submissions must comply with ethical research and publication standards. Conflicts of interest must be disclosed by authors, editors, and reviewers where applicable.

Archiving and Preservation

The journal is hosted on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and is committed to long-term digital preservation. Archival arrangements and preservation services will be implemented in accordance with recognised best practices to ensure continued access to published content.
